Steamed Mochi with Chocolate Filling

Ingredients

Dough

  • 125 grams glutinous rice flour
  • 135 milliliters water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 60 grams caster sugar
  • 20 grams shortening or white butter
  • Food coloring, as needed (optional)

Filling

  • Choco Crunch, as needed

Coating

  • Roasted cornstarch, as needed

Preparation

  1. Mix the glutinous rice flour, water, salt, and sugar until smooth, then sift.

  2. Steam the mixture in a non-stick container for 25-30 minutes until transparent, then remove and let it cool slightly.

  3. Add shortening and knead until smooth for 5-10 minutes. Add food coloring to taste.

  4. Take about 1 tablespoon of dough, add the filling, seal well, then roll in the coating. Repeat until all dough is used.

  5. The mochi is ready to serve.
