Thai Shrimp and Chicken Shumai

Ingredients

  • 200g shrimp or crab meat, coarsely chopped
  • 150g chicken thigh meat, blended
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1.5 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 3 cloves fried garlic
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • Jicama, cut into small cubes
  • White part of green onion, sliced thinly

Wrapper

  • Siomai or wonton wrappers

Toppings

  • Fried garlic, as needed

Brushing oil

  • Garlic oil

Preparation

  1. Heat the steamer.

  2. Mix all the ingredients together.

  3. Place 1 tablespoon of the mixture into each siomai wrapper.

  4. Steam for 15 minutes.

  5. After cooking, remove, brush with garlic oil, and sprinkle with fried garlic.
