Malaysian Steamboat Dipping Sauce
Ingredients
- 10 large red chilies
- 4 cloves garlic
- 5 tablespoons sesame oil
- 5 tablespoons fish sauce
- 5 tablespoons apple cider vinegar or regular vinegar
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Sunquick concentrate
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 cup water
- Salt to taste
- Sugar to taste
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- A small amount of cilantro
Preparation
Blend the red chilies and garlic until smooth.
Add the blended mixture, sesame oil, fish sauce, vinegar, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and Sunquick to a pot or any cooking vessel and cook until boiling.
Add the cornstarch mixed with 1 cup water and cook until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and sugar to taste.
Before turning off the heat, add the toasted sesame seeds and chopped cilantro.
