10-Minute Rum Balls from Cake Leftovers

Ingredients

  • 350 g cake leftovers (butter cake)
  • 6 Tbsp rum
  • 2-3 drops rum flavoring
  • 200 g dark chocolate
  • 1 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 Tbsp confectioners' sugar
  • 100 g dark chocolate sprinkles

Preparation

  1. Prepare a chocolate butter cake, such as a spice cake, and let it cool completely. Crumble the cake in a bowl and mix with rum and rum flavoring

  2. Chop dark chocolate coarsely and melt in a double boiler. Add cocoa powder and confectioners' sugar and stir briefly. Let the chocolate mixture cool, then add to the cake crumbs and mix everything together well, first with a food processor and then by hand until well combined

  3. Fill a bowl with dark chocolate sprinkles. Roll small balls from the dough by hand, then roll them in the dark chocolate sprinkles

  4. Roll the balls again in your hands so that the sprinkles stick better. Place the balls on a plate or in a container and store in a cool place
