Build Your Own Vegan Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1-2 cups frozen fruit of choice
  • 1-2 cups veggies of choice
  • 1-2 cups liquid of choice (dairy-free milk, coconut water, juice, brewed tea, coffee)
  • 1-2 tablespoons nut butter
  • dairy-free yogurt (optional)
  • hemp seeds (optional)
  • tofu (optional)
  • protein powder (optional)
  • cacao (optional)
  • maca (optional)
  • matcha (optional)

Preparation

  1. Add 1-2 cups of frozen fruit to a blender.

  2. Add in 1-2 cups of veggies of choice; most veggies are barely noticeable when blended.

  3. Add your liquid of choice, such as dairy-free milk or coconut water, 1-2 cups depending on smoothie size.

  4. Thicken with 1-2 tablespoons of nut butter, more fruit, dairy-free yogurt, hemp seeds, or tofu.

  5. Boost with protein powder or energy boosters like cacao, maca, or matcha.

  6. Blend all ingredients together until smooth and it is ready to serve.

Tips

  1. Blend veggies with liquid first if they do not blend properly.

  2. An example smoothie includes spinach, banana, protein powder, soy milk, and a tablespoon of hemp seeds for a protein-packed option.
