Macadamia Nut Cream Cheese Spread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw, unsalted macadamia nuts
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon Himalayan salt
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped chives or dill
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin coconut oil
  • Optional: nutritional yeast and black pepper

Preparation

  1. Soak macadamia nuts in water for 2 hours to aid digestion and improve creaminess.

  2. Drain the soaked nuts.

  3. Blend the drained nuts with lemon juice, salt, chives or dill, coconut oil, and optional nutritional yeast and black pepper until smooth and creamy.

Notes

  1. This base can be customized for sweet versions by adding vanilla, cinnamon, or nutmeg for use as a cake topping or fruit dip.
