Creamy Steel Cut Super Seed Oats

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 C water
  • 1 1/4 C plant milk of choice
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 TBSP coconut sugar
  • 1/2 C GF steel cut oats
  • 1/4 C GF old fashioned oats
  • 1 TBSP chia seed
  • 1 TBSP ground flax seed
  • 2 TBSP hemp seed

Toppings

  • berries
  • banana
  • hemp seed
  • pepitas or nuts
  • extra coconut sugar
  • goji berries or dried fruit

Preparation

  1. Bring water, milk and salt to a boil in a small sauce pan. Add in steel cut oats, coconut sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.

  2. Add remaining ingredients and stir to combine. Simmer for another 8-10 minutes until desired creaminess is reached. May need to add a little extra milk or water.

  3. Pour into bowl and add toppings of choice. Make extra for easy grab and go breakfasts.
