Double Chocolate Peppermint Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cacao powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and spray or line an 8x8 baking dish

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cacao powder, and baking powder, then stir in the chocolate chips

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the milk, oil, peppermint extract, and egg

  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and stir until well combined

  5. Spread the batter into the 8x8 baking dish and bake for 23 minutes

Notes

  1. Optionally top with Simple Mills frosting mixed with additional peppermint extract and crushed peppermint
