Cinnamon Sugar Bagels with Maple Walnut Cream Cheese
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (240g)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup thick dairy-free yogurt (may need more depending on water content)
- Vegan butter (for coating, amount as needed)
Toppings
- 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Maple walnut cream cheese spread
- 1/2 cup vegan cream cheese
- Handful of chopped walnuts
- Drizzle of maple syrup
Preparation
In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and yogurt and knead with your hands until it forms a dough ball.
Cut the dough ball into 4 equal parts.
Roll each part into a ball and poke a hole in the center to form a bagel shape, then place each on a baking sheet.
Coat the top of each bagel with melted vegan butter and sprinkle a generous amount of the cinnamon sugar topping.
Bake for 20-25 minutes at 350°F.
While the bagels are baking, whisk together the cream cheese, chopped walnuts, and maple syrup.
Once the bagels are done baking, slice them in half, spread with a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture, and enjoy.
