Cinnamon Sugar Bagels with Maple Walnut Cream Cheese

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (240g)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup thick dairy-free yogurt (may need more depending on water content)
  • Vegan butter (for coating, amount as needed)

Toppings

  • 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Maple walnut cream cheese spread

  • 1/2 cup vegan cream cheese
  • Handful of chopped walnuts
  • Drizzle of maple syrup

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and yogurt and knead with your hands until it forms a dough ball.

  2. Cut the dough ball into 4 equal parts.

  3. Roll each part into a ball and poke a hole in the center to form a bagel shape, then place each on a baking sheet.

  4. Coat the top of each bagel with melted vegan butter and sprinkle a generous amount of the cinnamon sugar topping.

  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 350°F.

  6. While the bagels are baking, whisk together the cream cheese, chopped walnuts, and maple syrup.

  7. Once the bagels are done baking, slice them in half, spread with a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture, and enjoy.
