Homemade Vibrant Beetroot Latte Drink
Ingredients
- Beetroot - 1 small (serves 2)
- Ginger powder - 1/4 tsp
- Cinnamon powder - 1/2 tsp
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
- Vanilla extract - 1/2 tsp
- Plant based milk - 2 cups
- Maple syrup or any sugar to taste
- Water - 1 cup
Preparation
In a deep base sauce pan place the beetroot with water and cook for about 20 minutes on low medium heat. Switch off the heat until you can easily peel off the skin with a fork.
Drain beetroot and keep it in the fridge to cool for about 10 minutes. You can use the water to knead your dough.
Once cooled, peel, cut in half and add beetroot in a blender with all the spices and 1/2 cup of milk and blend well.
In a pan heat milk of your choice, add the blended beet mixture with sugar and stir well. Once mixed well, use a milk frother to create a froth.
Pour the latte into a glass and enjoy!!
Alternatively, add cold milk straight to the blender and blend the beetroot with milk into a shake by adding ice cubes and maple syrup.
