Pulled Oyster Mushrooms with BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • 250g oystermushrooms
  • Pinch of brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 2tbsp water

Preparation

  1. Wash and shred the mushrooms with 2 forks.

  2. Heat a pan over high heat with 1 tablespoon oil.

  3. When the oil is hot enough, add the mushrooms, press them a bit and cook for 2-3 minutes.

  4. Flip the mushrooms and allow the other sides to cook for another 2-3 minutes.

  5. Add the other ingredients and mix properly with the mushrooms.

  6. Let the mushrooms cook for another 5 minutes.

  7. Reduce heat to medium-high and cook for another 5-10 minutes until the sauce gets a sticky consistency.

Serving ideas

  1. Serve in Buddha bowls, tacos, sandwiches, or wraps.

  2. Enjoy with French fries and coleslaw for a casual evening.
