Marinated Tempeh with Garlic and Soy Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 packet of tempeh (TJ’s only $1.99)
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tbsp soy sauce, tamari or liquid aminos
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp garlic power
- 1 tsp cayenne powder (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
You will need: 1 large pan, small mixing bowl
Mince garlic and cut tempeh into two inch pieces. I typically cut them into small rectangles but sometimes try triangular shaped.
Whisk together all ingredients in a small mixing bowl and marinade tempeh for as long as you can. I recommend marinating for at least 30 minutes.
Turn pan on medium heat and add tempeh along with 1/4 cup of the marinade. Continue to add splashes of the marinade as it dries up.
Flip tempeh pieces after about 5-7 minutes or until it’s golden brown.
Add tempeh to tacos, salads, soups or Buddha bowls!
