Indian Semolina Halwa Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Semolina (Sooji)
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tsp butter
  • 4 cardamom finely ground
  • some nuts and raisins for garnishing

Preparation

  1. In a pan add 1 tsp butter and roast the nuts and raisins and keep it aside

  2. Bring two cups of water to boil

  3. Add the other one tsp of butter and after the butter warms up add the semolina, on slow flame roast the semolina until it gets a light golden color

  4. Add sugar to the semolina and mix it well

  5. Slowly add the water to the pan and mix it well. Make sure the water is added slowly otherwise it will form lumps

  6. Cover the pan with lid and let it cook until water is absorbed

  7. Finally add cardamom, nuts and raisins

  8. Once it cools down cut it in desired shape
