Leftover Daal Paratha

Ingredients

  • 1 cup leftover daal
  • 1 cup chickpea flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour/chapati flour
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • Finely chopped coriander
  • Chopped chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • Ghee (clarified butter) for frying
  • Pickle of choice
  • Yogurt

Preparation

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of leftover daal, 1 cup of chickpea flour, and 1 cup of whole wheat flour.

  2. Add 1/2 tsp of turmeric, finely chopped coriander, chopped chillies, and salt to taste.

  3. Mix the ingredients together to form a soft dough. If needed, adjust the consistency by adding more flour or a splash of water.

  4. Take small golf ball-sized portions of the dough and roll them into parathas on a floured surface.

  5. Heat a frying pan and add a teaspoon of ghee to it. Pan-fry the parathas on both sides for a few minutes until they are cooked through and golden brown.

  6. Serve the daal parathas immediately with pickle and yogurt.
