Spiced Besan Flour Flatbreads
Ingredients
- 1 cup gram flour
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour (or GF oat flour)
- 4 Tbsp fresh coriander finely chopped
- 1 large green chilli finely chopped (optional)
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup water (plus 2-3 Tbs)
Preparation
Add all the ingredients to a food processor with dough attachment and pulse to form a smooth and pliable dough
If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour
If it is too dry and crumbly, slowly add more water and continue pulsing
Turn onto a floured surface and divide into 8 round balls
Using a rolling pin, roll them into disc shape as thin as possible
Heat a nonstick pan on high heat for 2 minutes and then reduce to medium
Place one of the rolled breads in the pan and cook on each side for about 1 minute until golden with small bubbles starting to form
Now take the flatbread in a pair of tongs and place over a direct flame
Keep turning until it fluffs up
