Sticky Bbq Tofu Delight
Ingredients
- Tofu (firm or extra-firm), sliced into 1cm thick pieces
- Liquid smoke
- Harissa paste
- Tomato paste
- Balsamic vinegar
- Teriyaki sauce
- Garlic powder
- Maple syrup
- Cooking oil
- Spinach
- Couscous
- Sweetcorn
- Chickpeas
- Roasted sweet potato
Preparation
Slice the tofu into 1cm inch thick slices. If using @tofooco tofu, no need to press it.
In a bowl, mix together the following ingredients to create the sauce: liquid smoke, harissa paste, tomato paste, balsamic vinegar, teriyaki sauce, garlic powder, and maple syrup. Alternatively, you can substitute all these ingredients with BBQ sauce.
Heat cooking oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry the tofu slices for about 7 minutes on each side or until they are firm and crispy on the outside.
Once the tofu is cooked, pour the sauce mixture into the pan. Cook until the sauce becomes sticky and coats the tofu.
Serve the BBQ tofu alongside fresh spinach, couscous with sweetcorn and chickpeas, and roasted sweet potato.
