Savory Cheese and Herb Tarts
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon yeast
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup chopped dill
- 1/4 cup chopped za'atar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 to 1 cup lukewarm water
Filling
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons soft butter
- 1 teaspoon oregano
Preparation
Sift the flour and salt, place in a food processor, add yeast, oil, za'atar, dill, and mix until combined. Gradually add water to form a soft dough. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Prepare small tart molds and grease them with oil.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface, cut into 1.5-inch circles, and line the molds with the dough, covering the bottom and sides. Let it rest for a short time.
For the filling, in a deep bowl, mix cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan, butter, and oregano together.
Distribute the filling into the tart shells and bake in the oven for 15 minutes until golden brown.
