Marvelous Chicken Lasagna with Creamy Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 chicken breast
- 500 g sliced mozzarella cheese
- 400 g sliced ham
- 1 package lasagna noodles
- 1 container cream cheese
- 2 chicken bouillon cubes
- 2 cups milk
- 1 carton heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 medium onion
Preparation
Sauce
Make a smooth roux in a saucepan with 2 tablespoons flour and 2 tablespoons butter, reserving 1 tablespoon butter for later
Add 2 cups milk and 1 chicken bouillon cube, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens
Remove from heat and stir in the heavy cream, then set aside to cool slightly
Chicken
Cook the chicken breast in a pot of water until tender, then shred with two forks
Finely chop the onion and sautΓ© in the reserved 1 tablespoon butter until golden
Add the shredded chicken and 1 chicken bouillon cube, stirring frequently until the chicken is golden brown
Assembly
Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C)
Spread 2 ladlefuls of sauce in the bottom of a baking dish
Arrange a layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce, then top with ham, mozzarella cheese, and shredded chicken
Spread a layer of cream cheese over the chicken, then add 2 ladlefuls of sauce
Top with ham, mozzarella cheese, and lasagna noodles, then sauce
Repeat the layering process until the dish is nearly full, leaving about 1 inch of space at the top
Finish with a generous layer of mozzarella cheese, cream cheese, and sauce
Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly
