Marvelous Chicken Lasagna with Creamy Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 chicken breast
  • 500 g sliced mozzarella cheese
  • 400 g sliced ham
  • 1 package lasagna noodles
  • 1 container cream cheese
  • 2 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 carton heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion

Preparation

Sauce

  1. Make a smooth roux in a saucepan with 2 tablespoons flour and 2 tablespoons butter, reserving 1 tablespoon butter for later

  2. Add 2 cups milk and 1 chicken bouillon cube, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens

  3. Remove from heat and stir in the heavy cream, then set aside to cool slightly

Chicken

  1. Cook the chicken breast in a pot of water until tender, then shred with two forks

  2. Finely chop the onion and sautΓ© in the reserved 1 tablespoon butter until golden

  3. Add the shredded chicken and 1 chicken bouillon cube, stirring frequently until the chicken is golden brown

Assembly

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C)

  2. Spread 2 ladlefuls of sauce in the bottom of a baking dish

  3. Arrange a layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce, then top with ham, mozzarella cheese, and shredded chicken

  4. Spread a layer of cream cheese over the chicken, then add 2 ladlefuls of sauce

  5. Top with ham, mozzarella cheese, and lasagna noodles, then sauce

  6. Repeat the layering process until the dish is nearly full, leaving about 1 inch of space at the top

  7. Finish with a generous layer of mozzarella cheese, cream cheese, and sauce

  8. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly
