Chinese Chicken with Black Pepper

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken fillets
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Vegetables

  • 1 tablespoon thinly sliced ginger
  • 4 sliced garlic cloves
  • 2 thinly sliced green onions
  • 1 thinly sliced green bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 medium zucchini, thinly sliced
  • 4 medium mushrooms, sliced
  • 6 baby corn
  • 2 medium carrots, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, cut into wedges
  • 1 teaspoon crushed chili
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds

Garnish

  • Green onion leaves for garnishing

Preparation

  1. Mix the chicken with cornstarch, paprika, black pepper, and salt, and marinate for a few minutes.

  2. Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.

  3. Add ginger, garlic, and some green onions, then stir-fry until fragrant.

  4. Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned and cooked through.

  5. Add the remaining vegetables and stir-fry until tender-crisp.

  6. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, crushed chili, and sesame seeds, and cook for another minute.

  7. Garnish with green onion leaves and serve immediately.
