Indonesian Spicy Meatball Curry
Ingredients
Meatballs
- 250g ground beef
- 4 tablespoons coarse breadcrumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
- 2 teaspoons meat curry powder (from @demaderaas.id)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 egg
Sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 150 ml water
- 200 ml plain UHT milk
- 3 tablespoons meat curry powder (from @demaderaas.id)
- 1 tablespoon paprika powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Salt, stock powder to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
Preparation
Mix all meatball ingredients, taste by frying a small portion, then form into small balls and continue until all mixture is used.
Heat 1 tablespoon oil and fry the meatballs until evenly cooked but not dry, then remove and set aside.
In the same pan, add 1 tablespoon oil and sauté garlic and onion until fragrant, then add water and the other spices and let it boil.
Add milk and meatballs, adjust the taste, wait until it boils again, then remove and serve.
Notes
Meat curry powder from @demaderaas.id helps eliminate the odor from the meat, making the recipe practical without needing to grind spices.
