Spicy Indonesian Green Chili Sambal

Ingredients

  • 150 grams green chilies
  • 7 shallots
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • salt
  • sugar

Preparation

  1. Boil the shallots, garlic, and green chilies for 2-3 minutes with a little cooking oil and salt to keep the color vibrant.

  2. Remove and coarsely grind the mixture.

  3. Heat cooking oil in a pan and sauté the ground mixture.

  4. Add chopped tomato, lime juice, salt, and sugar. Adjust seasoning to taste. For added umami, you can include oyster sauce.
