Potatoes with Meat and Cheese

Ingredients

Meat

  • 500 grams ground meat
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon mixed spices
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon basil

Vegetables

  • 4 large boiled potatoes
  • 2 green bell peppers, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1/2 cup pickled cucumber
  • 2 medium tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 cup liquid cream
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese

Other

  • Butter for greasing

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C, prepare a medium-sized baking dish, and grease it with butter.

  2. For the meat: in a skillet, heat the oil, add the meat and stir on medium heat until cooked.

  3. Add onion, garlic, salt, mixed spices, black pepper, oregano, basil and stir until onion softens, then set aside.

  4. Slice the potatoes.

  5. Place potato slices in the dish, slightly overlapping.

  6. Add the bell peppers, garlic slices, and pickled cucumber.

  7. Add the meat mixture.

  8. Add tomato slices.

  9. Spread the cream over the tomatoes.

  10. Sprinkle a generous layer of cheese.

  11. Cover the dish with parchment paper and then aluminum foil.

  12. Place the dish in the oven for 15 minutes, then remove the foil and bake until the cheese browns.
