Baked Rice Pudding
Ingredients
- 1 liter milk
- 2.5 cups water
- 1 tea glass rice
- 1 tea glass sugar
- A pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons starch
- About 1 tea glass milk (for dissolving starch)
- 1 packet vanilla (optional)
Preparation
Wash the rice once.
Boil the rice with 2.5 cups of water until the water is absorbed.
Add 1 liter of cold milk without heating it.
Cook on low heat for 10 minutes.
Add sugar and salt, then cook for another 4 minutes.
Dissolve the starch in about 1 tea glass of milk.
Pour the starch mixture into the cooking pudding on low heat.
Continue cooking until the desired consistency is reached. Adjust cooking time to avoid it being too runny or too thick.
Once ready, divide equally into oven-safe dishes.
Place the dishes in a baking tray with some boiling water.
Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C with top and bottom heat until browned.
Garnish and serve.
Tips
If the consistency is too thick, thin it with a little milk.
