Banana Chocolate Cluster Cake
Ingredients
- 4 ripe bananas
- 120g brown sugar
- 115g butter
- 120g buttermilk (made from 1/2 cup fresh milk and 1/2 tbsp vinegar)
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 160g flour
- 25g cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- A pinch of salt
- 80g chocolate chips
Garnish
- Chocolate chips and sliced almonds, mixed with a little flour
Preparation
Melt the butter and set it aside.
Mash the bananas with a fork and add the brown sugar; stir until well combined.
Add the melted butter to the mixture.
Add the buttermilk.
Sift the dry ingredients and gradually add them to the mixture.
Add the chocolate chips.
Mix everything until well combined and pour the batter into a baking pan.
Sprinkle the top with chocolate chips and sliced almonds.
Preheat the oven to 160°C and bake for 50 minutes.
