Crispy Apple-Filled Pastry Cookies

Ingredients

Filling

  • 5 medium apples
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 cup crushed walnuts

Dough

  • 4.5 cups flour
  • 200 grams butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet vanilla
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

Topping

  • powdered sugar

Preparation

  1. Prepare the filling by cooking apples with sugar, cinnamon, butter, and walnuts until soft and combined.

  2. Mix all dough ingredients together to form a smooth dough.

  3. Roll out the dough and cut into circles or desired shapes.

  4. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each dough piece, fold and seal the edges to form cookies.

  5. Bake in a preheated oven until golden brown and crispy.

  6. Dust the baked cookies with powdered sugar before serving.

Tips

  1. These cookies can be made ahead and frozen for later use; simply thaw and serve when needed.
