Crispy Vegan Cauliflower Wings with Sauce

Ingredients

Crusty batter

  • 1/2 cup AP flour
  • 2 tbsp rice flour
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • white pepper to taste

Spicy sauce

  • 2.5 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp tamari or soy sauce
  • 1 tsp vegan Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1-2 tbsp water
  • add some hot sauce for that kick

Preparation

  1. Mix all crusty ingredients in a bowl and set aside.

  2. Preheat oven to 495F.

  3. Cut a small head of cauliflower into florets and coat them well with the crusty mixture.

  4. Lay them on a non-stick baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.

  5. Remove from oven, brush some oil on the cauliflower, flip them, and bake for another 5 minutes to give a roasted look.

  6. Mix all saucy ingredients and set aside.

  7. In a heated pan with 1 tsp avocado oil, pour the sauce in slowly (it may splash), add the cauliflower florets, and coat them until well combined.

  8. Serve immediately.
