Healthy Low Carb Cauliflower Pizza Base

Ingredients

  • 4 cups ground cauliflower
  • 1 large egg or 1-2 tbsp corn flour, oat flour, or whole oats
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • Oregano to taste
  • Basil to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Garlic to taste

Pizza sauce components

  • Tomato passata
  • Garlic
  • Basil
  • Spices

Preparation

  1. Grind cauliflower in a food processor to make about 4 cups.

  2. Cook in microwave for 8 minutes.

  3. Preheat oven to 240°C.

  4. Strain excess water, then add to cooked cauliflower: 1 large egg, 1 cup grated cheese, oregano, basil, black pepper, and garlic to taste.

  5. Shape the cauliflower dough using palms and fingers on baking paper or a pre-greased pizza tray.

  6. Bake in oven on grill for about 7 minutes until edges brown.

  7. Make pizza sauce with tomato passata, garlic, basil, and spices.

  8. Spread sauce over cauliflower pizza base.

  9. Add desired toppings.

  10. Eat hot or store in fridge for the next day.

  1. Substitute egg with 1-2 tbsp corn flour, oat flour, or whole oats for egg-free version.

  2. Use vegan cheese or no cheese; it still tastes like pizza due to the sauce.
