Homemade Orange Biscuits
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup soft butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon orange extract
- 2 teaspoons fine orange zest
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups flour
Preparation
Place the wire rack in the middle of the oven and preheat the oven to 180°C.
Bring a 13x9 inch baking tray, grease it with butter, and line with a piece of parchment paper.
In a mixer bowl, place the butter, sugar, orange extract, orange zest, and salt, attach the paddle attachment, and mix on medium speed for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add the flour and mix on medium speed until the dough forms.
Using a wide plastic spoon, spread the dough in the tray and level the surface, then use a fork to make several holes in the dough.
Bake the biscuits for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
Remove from the oven, place the tray on a wire rack, let the biscuits cool slightly, flip them onto a cutting board, and remove the paper.
Using a sharp knife, cut the biscuits into squares to the preferred size, let cool completely, and serve.
