Simple Chocolate Almond Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 500g butter
  • 340g caster sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 8 tbsp cornflour
  • 80g cocoa powder
  • 640g all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 250g melted chocolate
  • 200g toasted almond flakes

Preparation

  1. Beat butter and sugar until creamy.

  2. Add egg yolks and vanilla essence, then beat until smooth.

  3. Add cornflour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and melted chocolate.

  4. Gradually add all-purpose flour little by little, adjusting for softness to make it easy to shape.

  5. Mix in the toasted almond flakes.

  6. Bake at 150°C for 20 to 25 minutes, depending on your oven.

Tips

  1. Add flour last and incorporate it gradually, not all at once, based on the dough's softness.

  2. The dough texture should be soft and not crumbly.

  3. Always cover the dough to prevent it from drying out.

  4. Different flour brands may have varying measurements, so adjust accordingly.

  5. Use two plastic sheets for rolling out the dough without adding extra flour.

  6. If the dough is hard and crumbly, add more butter instead of liquid, and mix gradually to soften.

  7. For biscuits with nuts like this, use a sharp biscuit mold.
