Simple Marble Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Preparation

  1. Cream the margarine with sugar until light and fluffy.

  2. Meanwhile, sift the flour with baking powder and preheat the oven to 170°C.

  3. Add the eggs one at a time and continue mixing until well combined.

  4. Add the vanilla essence and condensed milk.

  5. Gradually add the flour mixture until well incorporated.

  6. Divide the batter into two portions; leave one as is and mix the other with cocoa powder.

  7. Grease the baking pan with margarine for a crispy edge.

  8. Layer the batters alternately in the pan and use a knife to create marble patterns.

  9. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, adjusting for your oven; bake at 170°C for the first 20 minutes, then reduce to 160°C for another 20 minutes.
