Turkish Plain Pogaca Bread
Ingredients
- 300 grams margarine
- 500 grams flour
- 35 grams sugar
- 12 grams salt
- 2 eggs
- 25 grams fresh yeast
- 100 grams water
- 1 tablespoon yogurt
Preparation
Mix the dough to the right consistency
Add salt, sugar, and yeast to the water
Let the dough rest for 5 minutes
Divide the dough into pieces
Shape the pieces into balls nicely
Place them on baking sheets
Let them rest a bit
Press down and shape them
Brush with egg yolk using a brush
Let rise at room temperature for 30 to 40 minutes for fermentation
Preheat the oven to 60 degrees Celsius, turn it off, and place the pogaca inside with the oven fully closed
Ferment for about 45 to 50 minutes
Remove from the oven, preheat to 175 degrees Celsius, and bake for 17 to 18 minutes
Tips
Ensure the oven is fully closed during fermentation to prevent the fan from drying out the product
