Soft Turkish Bread Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 cup lukewarm water
- 2 cups lukewarm milk
- 1 packet fresh yeast
- 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 2 egg whites
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup melted and cooled butter
- Approximately 1 kg + 1-2 cups flour
- 1.5 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Filling
- Softened butter
Topping
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon molasses
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
Preparation
First, put 1 packet of fresh yeast and powdered sugar in a bowl, add milk and water, and activate the yeast.
Then add melted and cooled butter, vegetable oil, and egg whites, and mix.
Add salt, baking powder, and flour little by little, and knead.
Let the kneaded dough rise for 1 hour.
Take pieces from the risen dough, place small butter pieces on top, let rest for 5-10 minutes, then roll out and shape into rolls.
Let the rolls rest for about 15 minutes.
Twist two rolls together and seal the ends.
Let the dough rise on the baking sheet for 30 minutes.
Brush with the egg yolk mixture and bake at 180 degrees.
