Spinach and Feta Chicken Burgers
Ingredients
Chicken burgers
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1/4 cup feta
- 1/2 cup chopped spinach (sautéed)
- 1/2 onion diced (sautéed)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Sprinkle of salt and pepper
Sweet potato buns
- 1 large sweet potato
Preparation
Sauté the chopped spinach and diced onion until softened.
Mix the ground chicken, feta, sautéed spinach, sautéed onion, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Form the mixture into about 5 patties.
Heat a pan over medium heat or prepare a grill.
Cook the patties for 6 minutes on each side until done.
Cut the sweet potato into 1-inch thick slices.
Broil the sweet potato slices at 500°F for about 12 minutes on the bottom shelf.
Notes
Always check the internal temperature of the burgers to ensure they are fully cooked.
These burgers can be made on the stovetop or grill and pair well with sweet potato buns.
