Homemade Black Burger Buns

Ingredients

  • 500 g flour
  • 1 packet dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 200 ml water
  • 3 teaspoons activated charcoal
  • 70 g room-temperature butter
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon water for brushing
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Preparation

  1. First, put the flour together with the dry yeast in a large bowl.

  2. Mix the milk with the water, eggs, vinegar, and activated charcoal in a second bowl and mix well.

  3. Add the liquid mixture to the flour and knead with the butter and salt into a smooth dough.

  4. Let the dough rise covered in a warm place for 30 minutes.

  5. Now divide the dough on a floured surface into pieces and shape into round buns of desired size.

  6. Place the shaped buns on baking paper and let them rise again covered with a kitchen towel for 30 minutes.

  7. Now preheat the oven to 180°C fan-assisted.

  8. Brush the burger buns with water and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

  9. Bake the burger buns for about 20 minutes depending on the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
