Homemade Turkish Rice Pudding
Ingredients
- Half a tea glass rice
- 2 cups water
- 1 liter milk
- 2 tablespoons starch
- Sugar, one cup minus a finger (approximately 175 ml)
- A pinch of salt
- 1 packet vanilla
Preparation
Wash the rice in a sieve.
Place the washed rice in a pot and boil it with 2 cups of water.
After the rice is boiled, add the milk to the pot, bring to a boil, then cook for 10 minutes on medium heat.
Add the sugar and continue cooking for another 5 minutes.
In a separate bowl, mix the starch with 1 tea glass of water until well combined.
While stirring the boiling pudding continuously, add the starch mixture.
Add the vanilla and a pinch of salt, then boil for 1 more minute and pour into serving bowls.
Let it cool for 15 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 5 hours before serving.
Notes
Water glass measures 200 ml, tea glass measures 125 ml.
