Indonesian Steamed Rice Flour Dessert
Ingredients
- 200 g rice flour
- 50 g sago flour
- 300 ml medium coconut milk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Food coloring
- Banana leaves
Kinca sauce
- 250 g palm sugar
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar (optional)
- 500 ml medium coconut milk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in a little water
- 2 pandan leaves
Preparation
Mix rice flour and salt, pour in coconut milk, stir until smooth
Cook the mixture over low heat, stir continuously with a wooden spoon until thickened, then turn off the heat
Add sago flour, stir until well combined and doughy
Divide into three equal parts, color one part rose red, one part light green, and leave one part white
Put the dough into a piping bag with a small tip and pipe onto oiled banana leaves until dough is used up
Heat the steamer, then steam for 10 minutes over medium heat, remove and serve with kinca sauce
Kinca sauce
Mix all ingredients except cornstarch, boil while stirring until it boils
Pour in the cornstarch mixture dissolved in water, stir until thickened
