Steamed Grated Cassava Snack

Ingredients

  • 500 grams cassava
  • 150 grams brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 grated coconut, prepared by steaming with 1/2 teaspoon salt for 15 minutes

Preparation

  1. Steam the grated coconut with 1/2 teaspoon salt for 15 minutes.

  2. Peel the cassava and grate it coarsely.

  3. Mix the grated cassava with chopped brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon salt, stirring until even.

  4. Steam the mixture for 15 minutes or until cooked.

  5. While still warm, shape the mixture using a conical mold lined with banana leaves.

  6. Serve with a sprinkle of the steamed grated coconut.
