Cassava in Palm Sugar Syrup

Ingredients

  • 500 grams cassava
  • 150 grams palm sugar
  • Granulated sugar, optional, to taste
  • A pinch of salt
  • Water, as needed
  • 2-3 pandan leaves

Preparation

  1. Cook the palm sugar with water until melted and strain to make the syrup.

  2. Boil the cassava together with pandan leaves until the cassava is soft and the water reduces and thickens.

  3. Add the palm sugar syrup and salt, cook until the sauce is absorbed and thickens, then remove from heat and serve.

Tips

  1. Best enjoyed warm as an afternoon snack.
