Super Crispy Brazilian Street Food Pastries
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water (or a little more)
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 1 tablespoon cachaça
- 1 level tablespoon salt
- all-purpose flour for dusting
Preparation
Place the flour mixed with salt in a bowl or on a work surface and make a well in the center
Into the well, add the oil, cachaça, and a little water
Gradually mix the water and flour, incorporating more flour from the edges of the well
When the dough becomes hard, add more water; the dough should be soft; if it's a little sticky, that's okay; if it's too sticky, add more flour; if it's hard, add more water
On a floured surface, roll out the dough with a rolling pin until very thin (if not thin, it won't be crispy after frying)
Fill with your desired filling and seal with a fork
Fry in hot oil (not too hot) over medium-high heat and drain using a slotted spoon, then let dry on paper towels
Tips
