Flavorful Bbq Tofu with Vegetables and Noodles
Ingredients
- 2/3 package extra firm organic tofu, drained and pressed well to remove water
- 1 tsp oil
- 1.5 cups steamed broccoli florets
- 1 cup edamame
- 1 cup cooked noodles
Garnish
- Cilantro
- Sauteed mushrooms
- Sesame seeds
- Scallions
- Red chili flakes
Sauce
- 2 tbsp gochujang sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp water
- 1.5 tbsp agave or maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
Preparation
Cut tofu into thin pieces
Add oil to a large pan and place tofu so the pieces are not overlapping; you may need to do this in 2 batches
Cook until lightly browned (about 5 minutes depending on thickness) then flip and cook another 3 minutes
Meanwhile, whisk together sauce in a bowl
When tofu is cooked, add sauce and toss to coat
Serve with vegetables and noodles
Notes
The sauce really permeates the tofu and gets a bit caramelized
You can find gochujang sauce online or in most grocery stores; it is tangy and flavorful
