Cheese and Olive Balls

Ingredients

  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup soft butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon red chili pepper
  • 24 stuffed green olives
  • 12 walnut halves

Preparation

  1. Place the wire rack in the middle of the oven and preheat the oven to 180°C.

  2. Get a shallow baking sheet and line it with parchment paper.

  3. In a deep bowl, place the cheese, butter, flour, salt, and pepper. With your fingertips, mix until a cohesive dough forms.

  4. Take a large spoonful of dough and shape it into a disc. Place a stuffed olive in the center, close the dough around it, and shape into a smooth ball. Place the balls on the sheet, leaving 2 inches between each. Top each ball with half a walnut.

  5. Bake the cheese and olive balls for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.

  6. Serve the cheese and olive balls warm or cold.
