Homemade Teriyaki Sauce with Soy and Honey

Ingredients

  • 120 ml soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 (2cm) piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 4 tbsp cold water
  • 1 tbsp cornflour

Preparation

  1. Stir soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, brown sugar, sesame seeds, garlic and ginger together in a small saucepan over medium-high heat.

  2. Whisk cornflour into water in a bowl; add to soy sauce mixture.

  3. Cook sauce, stirring regularly, until thickened, about 5 to 7 minutes.
