Traditional Malaysian Sago Pudding
Ingredients
- 1 cup sago pearls
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- A little rose syrup
- 1 pandan leaf, knotted
Coconut mixture
- Grated coconut
- A little salt
Preparation
Wash the sago and soak for 10 minutes, then drain.
Combine water, sugar, rose syrup, and knotted pandan leaf.
Cook the mixture on medium heat.
Add the drained sago and cook until it is no longer hard.
Once done, transfer to a container, let it cool, and cut into pieces.
Steam the grated coconut briefly, add a little salt, and mix well.
Mix the prepared coconut with the cut sago pudding and serve.
