Yeast-Free Turkish Fried Pastry
Ingredients
Dough
- 1.5 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 2.5 cups flour (using 200ml cup measure)
Filling
- 250-300 grams lean ground meat
- 1 medium onion
- 0.5 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
Preparation
Mix the dough ingredients and knead until smooth, then let rest for about 30 minutes.
Prepare the filling by combining all filling ingredients together.
Roll out the dough into thin circles on a floured surface.
Place a portion of the filling on one half of each dough circle, fold over, and seal the edges tightly.
Fry the sealed pastries in hot oil until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
Remove from oil and drain on paper towels before serving hot.
