Turkish Boyoz Pastry
Ingredients
- 1 kg flour
- 2.5 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
For rolling
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 250 g butter
Preparation
Prepare the dough with the ingredients, cover it, and let it rest for 20 minutes.
Divide the dough into 300g pieces, oil them with vegetable oil, and let rest for 30 minutes.
After resting, spread 80g butter between two dough pieces, stack them, and let rest for 40 minutes.
Grease the work surface well and roll out the dough very thinly.
Fold the thinly rolled dough from top, bottom, and sides to form a rectangle, then roll into a log from one end.
Set the log aside to rest.
Break off 3-4 cm pieces from the log, press down with your hand, and place on a baking sheet.
Let rest for 1 hour.
Bake in a preheated 180°C oven until golden brown.
Tips
The most important part is to roll the dough very thinly for the best texture.
