Grandmother's Timeless Turkish Pişi
Ingredients
Dough
- 4 cups lukewarm water
- 7 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
Frying
- 1.5 cups vegetable oil
Preparation
Combine all dough ingredients in a bowl and mix to form a soft dough.
Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
Heat the oil in a deep pan or fryer to a hot temperature suitable for frying.
Shape the dough into small balls or desired shapes.
Fry in hot oil until golden brown and puffed.
Remove and drain on paper towels to serve.
