Turkish Butter Flour Halva

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 150 grams butter
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups flour plus 2 tablespoons flour

Preparation

  1. Combine 2 cups water and 2 cups granulated sugar in a pot and bring to a boil to make the syrup.

  2. In a separate wide pot, melt 150 grams butter and 1/4 cup vegetable oil.

  3. Add 2 cups flour plus 2 tablespoons flour to the melted mixture and roast on low heat, stirring constantly, until the flour changes color and develops an aroma.

  4. Pour the hot syrup over the flour mixture and stir until the mixture thickens.
