Apple-Filled Cookies with Walnuts and Cinnamon
Ingredients
Filling
- 4 medium apples
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup walnuts
Dough
- 250 grams butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil (125 ml)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon yogurt
- 4 to 4.5 cups flour
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 packet vanilla
Preparation
Prepare filling
Grate the apples and cook them with sugar in a pot until they release their juices and reabsorb them
Add cinnamon and walnuts, mix well, and set aside to cool
Make dough
Mix the butter or margarine, vegetable oil, powdered sugar, egg, and yogurt together
Add flour, baking powder, and vanilla, and knead to form a dough
Assemble cookies
Divide the dough into 4 equal parts
Roll out each part between parchment paper, trim the edges for neatness, spread the filling over the dough, fold into a single layer, cut it, slice into pieces, and place on a baking sheet
Repeat the process with the remaining dough portions
Bake and serve
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve
