Turkish Fried Dough with Cheese Filling

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • Salt
  • 2.5-3 cups flour

Filling

  • 1 teacup white cheese
  • 1 teacup kashar cheese (cottage cheese can be used as substitute)
  • A pinch of parsley

Preparation

  1. Mix all ingredients except flour.

  2. Gradually add flour and knead into a soft dough.

  3. Let the dough rest for half an hour.

  4. Take small pieces of dough and roll them into rounds.

  5. Place the cheese filling inside, close the dough, and press lightly with your hands.

  6. Fry in hot oil until browned.

  7. Serve hot.

Notes

  1. It browns quickly in the hot oil.

  2. Kashar cheese can be substituted with cottage cheese.
