Yeast-Free Soft Turkish Pastry
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1.5 cups yogurt
- 0.5 cup vegetable oil
- 1.5 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1.5 packets baking powder
- Approximately 4 cups flour
Filling
- White cheese
- Parsley
Topping
- Egg yolk
- Sesame seeds
- Nigella seeds
Preparation
First, prepare the filling by mixing white cheese and finely chopped parsley.
In a mixing bowl, combine vegetable oil, salt, sugar, yogurt, and egg, and mix well.
Sift the flour and baking powder into the bowl and knead until a soft, non-sticky dough forms.
Divide the dough into lemon-sized pieces, roll each in your palm, and flatten slightly.
Place a portion of the filling in the center of each dough piece and seal it closed.
Arrange the pastries on a parchment-lined baking sheet with the sealed side up.
Brush with egg yolk and make a cut in the center with a sharp knife.
Sprinkle with sesame and nigella seeds and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius until done.
